Today is the first day of the first Tarot conference I've ever attended, and I'm nervous as hell. I got picked up at the airport by the awesome Jaymi Elford, and at dinner, we were talking about who was going to be here. Guys, some of these people are putting me directly into fangirl mode.
The internet is a weird thing. I have been posting to my blog for a few years, and have been on Facebook and Twitter (and I have 50 followers on Tumblr! badass!), and it gives the illusion that I know people in my field. I really don't. I've had phone calls with some and emails with others. Comments on pictures and blogs and whatnot, but I don't know these folks. In fact, if it weren't for Theresa Reed's Soulful Proprietor workshop, I wouldn't actually KNOW any tarot professionals AT ALL that aren't local.
That's a bit intimidating.
I'm feeling very blessed in Jaymi. She's showing me around the town (even though she's presenting this weekend!) and is listening to me prattle on about nerves. :) I have a feeling if I'd gone straight to the conference, I'd have been wide eyed and quiet the whole time.
I'm going to try to write more tonight after the first shindig, and let you know all about the North West Tarot Symposium. I hope I can relax. I hope it's as fun as I think it's going to be.
Good morning, Portland! You've either fixed or broken my hair
